I believe in the intrinsic value of all people, and celebrate the music that brings us together and challenges us to create a better future.

As an Associate Professor of Music at High Point University, I teach courses in music and culture in the HPU Lead (general education) program, the Honors Scholars Program, and the Department of Music. My teaching is formed by the liberal arts tradition, with a focus on the connections between music, identity, community, and wellness.

My research includes work in both the Sociology of Music, with a focus on Japan and Cambodia, and also the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.

My Catholicism is formed of Ignatian and Redemptorist spirituality, and shapes my thinking as a teacher and mentor. I am a third-degree Knight of Columbus.

Teacher. Scholar. Catholic.
